La Colline aux coquelicots

Umi is a young high school student who lives in an old building perched atop a hill overlooking the port of Yokohama. Every morning, since her father disappeared at sea, she hoists two flags facing the bay, like a message sent to the horizon. At school, someone even wrote an article about this moving signal in the campus newspaper. It may be the intrepid Shun, the handsome young man that Umi has not failed to notice... Attracted to each other, the two young people will share more and more activities, from saving the old home to writing the newspaper. However, their relationship will take an unexpected turn with the discovery of a secret surrounding their birth that seems to bind them... In a Japan of the 1960s, between tradition and modernity, on the dawn of a new era, Umi and Shun will discover and share a moving story of friendship, love and hope.
