Fossil

The Fossil set, released on October 10, 1999, is the third expansion of Pokémon cards in English published by Wizards of the Coast. This collection of 132 cards introduces fascinating creatures from prehistoric fossils, such as Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl. The set includes 62 cards, 47 of which are new Pokémon, significantly expanding the game's roster.

The Fossil cards are distinguished by their unique characteristics: the holofoil cards feature the Cosmos pattern (with a few rare Galaxy specimens), while the non-holofoil cards have a 1999-2000 copyright. This expansion also had a special Australian edition, recognizable by its red anti-counterfeiting logo. Some cards, such as Sneasel and Slowking, have even been banned from tournaments, adding an extra strategic dimension to the collection.
