LEGO Fabuland is an iconic range launched in 1979 and produced until 1989. Designed for children aged 3 to 7, it served as a transition between DUPLO bricks and the standard LEGO system. What distinguished Fabuland was its anthropomorphic characters with animal heads, such as the famous Mayor Lionel Lion, who lived in a colorful and welcoming world.
The first LEGO range to develop a true narrative universe, Fabuland expanded beyond the bricks with storybooks, playing cards, clothing and even an animated television series. The 106 sets offered simplified constructions with larger pieces, making it easier to assemble houses, boats, carousels and municipal buildings.
Today, this collection is particularly prized by collectors for its unique aesthetic and its importance in LEGO's history as the first successful attempt to integrate storytelling and construction play.
