Released in 1985, the Amstrad CPC 6128 is an evolution of the Amstrad CPC 464 within the Amstrad CPC range. It had the same Z80 processor running at 4 Mhz, but was equipped with 128 KB of RAM instead of 64 KB and, above all, a 3-inch floppy disk drive with a capacity of up to 178 KB per side, much faster than the cassette drive, and integrated the Locomotive Basic 1.2 firmware instead of the 1.0 version of the 464. It was delivered with floppy disks containing two versions of the CP/M operating system and numerous utilities.
