Fire Force

Fire Force (炎炎ノ消防隊, En'en no Shōbōtai) is the work of Atsushi Ohkubo, creator of the famous Soul Eater. Published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from September 2015 to February 2022, this 34-volume manga marks Ohkubo's first weekly series and his last manga.

The plot takes place in year 198 of the Solar Era, where Tokyo faces a terrifying phenomenon: spontaneous human combustion. To combat this threat, the Fire Force, a team of specialized firefighters, is created. The protagonist Shinra Kusakabe possesses the ability to ignite his feet and travel at rocket speed.

This science fiction series blends pyrokinesis and pyrokinetic monsters in a post-apocalyptic universe where Tokyo is the only surviving city in a world ravaged by global fire. Fire Force is connected to the Soul Eater universe, a revelation made in the final chapter.
