Dandadan

Dandadan (ダンダダン) is a shonen manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, serialized since April 2021 on the digital platform Shonen Jump+ by publisher Shueisha. In France, the series is published by Crunchyroll Editions (Shonen Up! label) in a translation by Sylvain Chollet.

Before Dandadan, Tatsu served as an assistant to Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man) and Yūji Kaku (Hell's Paradise), an experience that shows through in his dynamic graphic style and punchy narrative structure.

The story blends yokai, extraterrestrials and romantic comedy around two high school students with opposite beliefs: Momo Ayase, convinced of the existence of ghosts, and Ken Takakura, passionate about UFOs. This mix of Japanese folklore and straightforward science fiction quickly propelled the series among the most popular of its generation, with over 10 million copies in circulation. An animated adaptation produced by Science Saru studio strengthened its international reputation.
