Information about "Scribble" collection
Scribble Magazine (USA): The raw archive of American vandal graffiti from the 1990s
Launched at the heart of the golden decade of American graffiti (notably in Ohio and on the East Coast), Scribble is a cult independent fanzine that became an absolute reference for purists.
Published from the late 1990s onwards, this magazine stood out for its exhaustive coverage of the American underground, far from traditional commercial circuits. Rather than focusing solely on legal or colorful murals, Scribble built its legendary reputation on raw documentation of nocturnal actions.
The fanzine highlighted the most radical aspects of the movement: massive throw-ups, the art of pure tagging (handstyles), freight train graffiti on cargo trains (freights) and aggressive lettering by legendary crews and artists of the era (such as T-Kid or the MSK team).
It is a paper archive of exceptional rarity, testifying to the wild energy of the street before the digital age.
