Information about "Aktion 4000" collection
Aktion 4000 Magazine (Switzerland): The legendary bible of graffiti from the Basel Line era.
Launched in Switzerland in 1994, Aktion 4000 is a mythical independent paper fanzine that established itself as the ultimate archive of the golden age of graffiti in the Basel region, a true hub and historic stronghold of European writing style.
This period publication had only a very short and highly confidential existence, published as a total of only 3 anthology issues released until 1994.
Written in both German and French to cover all the effervescence of Swiss borders, Aktion 4000 refused any smooth commercial line.
The magazine built its legendary reputation on its uncompromising photographic selection focused on pure action: heavily painted train cars, federal train panels (SBB/CFF) immortalized hot in nocturnal depots, and wildstyle lettering of surgical technicality characteristic of the mythical "Basel Line" crews.
It is an entire section of Swiss underground heritage of extraordinary rarity, today actively hunted by international collectors for its historical value.
