400ML Magazine (France): The raw chronicle of French vandal graffiti in the 1990s Launched in France in the early 1990s, 400ML is a completely independent fanzine that became a mythical relic for collectors of hexagonal Hip-Hop culture. Its name directly echoes the standard capacity of a classic paint bomb of the era (400 ml). Published in an ultra-confidential manner as a stapled paper magazine, 400ML quickly established itself as the loudspeaker of the vandal graffiti scene. Far from glossy art magazines, this street fanzine cultivated an uncensored, artisanal "cut & paste" aesthetic. Each issue focused exclusively on pure action: heavily painted Parisian metro and RER trains, SNCF train panels immortalized hot in nocturnal depots, aggressive throw-ups and tags of the era (handstyles). It is a paper archive of extraordinary rarity, hunted internationally by purists for its raw testimony of the pre-digital movement.
