Information about "14K" collection
14K Magazine (Switzerland): The founding monument of Swiss Hip-Hop culture
Launched in Zurich in May 1988 by a handful of passionate activists (including the legendary Ducal Daddy Fresh), 14K is historically the very first Swiss magazine entirely dedicated to Hip-Hop culture and graffiti.
Initially designed in a very artisanal manner with an Amiga 500 computer and a simple needle printer (dot matrix printer) for a confidential print run, it quickly grew to accompany the entire golden decade of the movement in Switzerland.
Published regularly until 1997 for a total of 63 issues, this reference magazine offered a complete immersion mixing rap, breakdancing, album reviews and, above all, massive galleries of graffiti photographs.
It was the unmistakable loudspeaker of the Swiss scene, renowned for documenting both the complex murals of Halls of Fame and the pure and brutal actions carried out on trains and railway lines across the country.
Recognizable by its spectacular format change in 1995 (moving from A4 to the giant A3 format to give full power to photos of painted pieces), 14K remains a legendary and unfindable historical archive.
