L'exorciste : Au commencement

Father Lankester Merrin is haunted by the memory of the atrocities committed during World War II. Feeling his faith abandoning him, he leaves his native Holland and embarks on a last-chance journey to Africa - a pilgrimage he hopes will be redemptive. In Cairo, Merrin is approached by an antique collector who offers him to join an archaeological site in Kenya. In the distant province of Turkana, the English have just made a most disturbing discovery: a perfectly preserved Byzantine church. Counting on Merrin's archaeological expertise acquired at Oxford, the collector hopes to uncover an ancient relic hidden in the church. But, under the church, a diabolical entity slumbers, waiting for a sign to awaken and spread blood, death and the most abominable violence on Earth again...
