Norev embodies French excellence in automotive miniatures since 1946. Founded by the Véron brothers in the suburbs of Villeurbanne, near Lyon, Norev is the family name spelled backwards. This etymology reveals the family spirit that still animates the brand. In 1953, following the first plastic toy fair in Oyonnax, Joseph Véron launched the first Norev vehicles at 1:43 scale in plastic. The first model, the Simca Aronde, inaugurates a range initially centered on French automobiles: Renault 4CV, Ford Vedette, Peugeot 203, Citroën DS 19. Technical innovation distinguished Norev from its beginnings. The use of 'Rhodialite', a new plastic developed by Rhône-Poulenc, allows for reproductions of remarkable fineness. The models are characterized by their colored unpainted bodies and their red hubs with white tires. In the 1990s, facing the decline of the toy market, Norev reoriented itself towards adult collectors. This strategy transformed the brand into a reference in precision modeling, offering varied scales from 1/87 to 1/12, with official partnerships with automobile manufacturers.
