Goosebumps is an American children's horror fiction book series, written by R.L. Stine from July 1992 to December 1997 for the original collection, which consists of seventy-four books. Various spin-offs of the collection, also written by R.L. Stine, have been published since then. These suspenseful novels for children and young teenagers were published in France by Bayard Poche between March 23, 1995 and November 13, 2001 for the original series (seventy-four books). This book collection was a great success in France and around the world, especially among young people, with 350 million books translated into thirty-five languages sold. It even gave rise in the 1990s to a television series of the same name, Goosebumps, with seventy-two episodes, broadcast notably on YTV in Canada and on France 2 in France, and the episodes more or less faithfully transcribe some of the novels in the collection. The latter has also led to the creation of numerous derivative products. In 2015, it was adapted for the cinema with the film Goosebumps, featuring a fictional version of R.L. Stine.
